Sometimes a medical condition can improve through use of therapies. A physician will need to write a prescription as to which therapy and the extent of the therapy to provide. The main three therapies are Physical, Occupational and Speech. Therapies are approved by most skilled care programs as covered services and used in conjunction with nursing care and other treatments. Always check with the physician on which therapies are prescribed and monitor how the person receiving the therapies progresses during treatment. If progress does not continue or the timeframe of covered services ends, then the therapy can only continue under a private pay agreement.
